Nurse Jackie got a lot of negative reports from people I usually trust. My husband and and I binge watched it because he loves Merritt Weaver; I have to say I enjoyed it enormously.

I liked Nurse Jackie too, be we only got the channel for 3 months, so I hope it comes to Netflix sometime.

We're binge watching Orange is the New Black. We found it hard to watch at first, but now we're enjoying it.

OP, on your list you mentioned "The Bridge". Is this the American version or the original Swedish/Danish show?

If you haven't seen the original series (called "Bron/Broen") and if you can find it online somewhere, I'd highly recommend it. Apparently the storyline is very different than the American version, it's extremely intense, and the two lead actors (Kim Bodnia and Sofia Helin, aka "Martin" and "Saga") are wonderful together. The show sneaks in some very entertaining scenes in between the dark subject, and it can be quite funny at moments, esp. in the way the writers sculpted Saga's persona. She seems to suffer from Asperger's or some similar disease that seriously compromises her ability to understand basic social interaction, yet at the same time will display glimmers of emotion and caring. I've seen Season 1 (or rather, "Series" 1), and can't wait to be able to watch Season 2.

Here's a trailer for the original, "Bron/Broen":

Even though it's been over a year since I watched this, I still get chills just thinking about it. One of the best shows I've ever seen. (LOL...you can ignore my rambling if this is the show you've already seen.)

There's also another show I saw that had been on Netflix; this one is called "Happy Valley" and is about a female cop in a small town in northern England. So far (at least in Canada) there's only one season available on Netflix, and there's only six shows in that season, but it's very, very good.

And of course, "The Glades". I loved this show, was very disappointed that it was cancelled. I found it funny and entertaining, and of course, the lead actor (Matt Passmore, a handsome Australian living in the US) is always good to watch.

Hey KSparks... I thought of you tonight. It was later in the evening so I wanted something easy to watch, to settle down for bed. Clicking through Netflix I found a 1 season show I thought I had seen before but if not I might like it. Taking a look to be sure, I stuck with epi 1 (total of 6 epi's). Realizing I had seen it I skipped to the last episode wondering if it might lead to another season. IMDB doesn't show a second season so I imagine it didn't make the cut.

Anyway, the show is Ascension. If you haven't seen it, take big gulp of 'Disbelief Suspension' and stick with it. It picks up in the 59th year of a 100 year journey into space... which reminds me, there is a thread around from last year if you want some spoilers.

Bassetluv- I did see a few episodes of the original version of The Bridge on Hulu last year. I gave up because of the subtitles. But I should probably go back and try it again. I was surprised to find it on Hulu.

If you didn't see the nine seasons of "24," you would probably love it. To me, "24" was similar in some respects to House of Cards -- but with the intensity of Breaking Bad.
