Not to mention country radio is liking Kellie Pickler and Bucky Covington too. Josh Gracin also had a couple of big hits and I'm hoping he comes back with something new. Let's not forget Clay Aiken, who is taking Broadway by storm in Spamalot. Which reminds me of another WINNER doing well on Broadway in The Color Purple - Fantasia. These folks would never have gotten a chance without AI. Most of them were on before crap like Vote for the Worst came along encouraging people to keep the crappy people on longer. I personally think the judges have skipped over some good folks who should have gotten golden tickets this year.

He's not the best, but most definately not the worst. I can think of ALOT worse, trashy, undeserving people who have record deals.

Thats why I said winners. The ones who actually get the title of American Idol. Clay Aiken didnt win, Ruben did, and where's he today? Getting dropped from his record company. Same thing with Taylor Hicks. And yes the show does produce some winning talent, like Carrie Underwood. But for the most part its the contestants that go on to make it big, like Jennifer Hudson, Doughtry (although I cant stand his music) and etc.

We are in Season 8 & have had 3 (Kelly, Carrie & Jordan) Idols go mainstream. So, 2nd & 3rd place aside & talking just winners here.
3 out of 7, that's not bad. 3 out of 7 winners, I think that is GREAT!

And I'm just letting you know that I think the show is all hype and that many of its winners will not stand the test of time, except for a select few who're actually talented.

I didn't think the girl whose parents own a meat processing plant was that bad; I think she just chose the wrong song.

The tryouts are okay but I can't wait for the real deal to start.

Let's be fair to the clueless jabronies, it's the producers that actually subject America to them. They pre-screen all the contestants, choose the good and the bad, and send em' in to the dymanic trio for our viewing pleasure/horror.
