Back in the day I thought "Home Improvement" would suck but eventually became a huge fan and started watching it every week.

Presently, I'd go with "Fresh off the Boat".... thought it would suck like Magaret Cho's old sitcom from years ago but it's much better and funnier. Not to mention Constance Wu is hot like Kimchi!

There were many I knew of but was never interested in. Then, a few years ago I was laid off and had time on my hands. I checked them out and loved them.

One example is "House". Another is "Big Bang Theory"

My answer will be a little redundant since I've been posting in the Revolution thread, but that's the show that comes to mind first. I watched the first episode when it first aired but thought it would be average at best so didn't continue. Then this year I needed to find a couple of series to watch since I was almost finished with others I had been watching on Netflix. Revolution happened to be one of the ones I ended up really enjoying.

I'm not a fan of the whole werewolves and witches theme so didn't think I'd watch much of The Originals or Bitten, but both have been good. The Originals is better in my opinion, but it probably had a bigger budget.

The 100 wasn't made for my age group, meaning it was made for young adults, however season one of Netflix was decent. Season two should be added soon I'm guessing, within the next couple of months, provided there actually was a season two. I haven't looked into it. Wasn't as good as some of the others, but I'm easily entertained if something can hook me even a little.

Pushing Daisies. The name sounded ridiculous to me. I watched it mid way through season one because nothing else was on and I was instantly hooked

Longmire. I'd see it one the first page of the board for the longest and decided to see what the big deal was. Downloaded season 1 and was a fan ever since. Chomping at the bit for season 4 and A&E will never get my viewership again

Granite Flats started out a bit flat at first, but then it surprisingly took off, and I couldn't stop watching it! However, the so-called powers that be cancelled it after the 3rd season! Ouch!

It's not that I thought it would SUCK, but I'm not a huge fan of James Spader, so I steered clear of The Blacklist when it was first introduced. About 6 weeks ago, I glommed the first two seasons on Netflix and could not get through them quickly enough. I think it's a great show, and I'll definitely be tuning in when it returns in the fall.

For me too. I started watching House and The Big Bang Theory late in the game and loved them.
