The pilot was leaked online a few months back. It was OK. Not good. not bad. Just OK. I'll give it a few episodes like I do any other new show that sparks my interest

Supergirl is not really a character that can stand on her own.

Even those female heroes can't really have their own stand alone series.

Wonder woman (maybe). They don't have the character development, history, range of villains, etc to have their own show or movie. They are great in a supporting role but not in the main role with the exception of wonder woman.

Superheroes show are given mainly to white straight male.
They would even let Consitine be bisexual.
Ms.Marvel or Capital Marvel is coming to big screen.
If you read the comics, you see that those female are own characters.

Yap. That's why I was able to watch it. I like it coz like I said I love the movie with Helen Slater. It does look like a cheesy TV series. So I guess the only ones who will watch it are people like me who have a soft spot for the heroine herself, supergirl.

Although the one that made me care for supergirl was Helen Slater in her movie. So her making a cameo in the pilot kinda fulfilled my need to care for this series.

Hopefully she will make more appearance. I just read on her IMDB that she played Clark Kent's mom in smallville.

Can't believe I did not care or watched about smallville at all. Because I know for a fact ALL superman actors made a cameo there. Particularly Chris Reeve and his Lois Lane, Margot Kidder.

And obviously this supergirl will be doing the same thing. Like all these superhero TV series does.

Supergirl is the only one I care to watch though. I did watch Lois and Clark though, LOL. It's cheesy also but I love it!

Whatever her role was. Since I just browsed in IMDB. She was someone's mom there, LOL. I read it again. She was superman's mom!! So she is Clark Kent's mom. Because Kent IS Superman. I mean, do you want to debate over this? Coz I win, ya know.

I plan on giving it a try just because of Calista Flockhart.

You can argue incorrectly all that you like but Helen Slater was NOT Clark's mother. I have forgotten her name but it was NOT Helen Slater. Maybe someone remembers who it was.
