I have been watching "Longmire" on Netflix. It takes place in a small town in Wyoming in a state that is very sparsely populated, YET someone is getting murder in every episode! It is crazy. I told my SO that I would move far away from that town because you will probably end up killed at some point.

And it was filmed in New Mexico. Go figure. It's a tv show, not real.

I realize it is a TV show. I was making a simple observation.

I was actually just thinking about this last night rewatching (for the 10th time it seems )"Breakout Kings". Obviously there arent that many prison breaks but it makes for a good show every week.

I guess it would make for a boring show if it was realistic about a small county sheriff's office. Rounding up stray cattle, keys locked out of a car, lost dog, broken down tractor on highway 14.

Another great show! I assume you are like me--it is absurd, but it does make for a good tv show!

If you think 1 murder a week is a lot, watch Midsomer Murders (on Netflix streaming). At least 3 murders a week in a small rural county in England.

Although I like both, I like Midsomer more than Longmire. It's obvious that it's not to be taken seriously. You smile through the whole episode and have good dreams at night.

The murders are usually bizarre, such as the obnoxious wealthy guy who was drugged, stapled to the ground with the wickets from his expensive croquet set, pummeled to death after he regains consciousness by bottles of his rare claret launched from a medieval reproduction catapult, while from the mansion window his wheelchair ridden wife is giving aiming instructions.
