I watched the second episode tonight, since it was made available on demand in advance. Excellent, stronger than the pilot I think.

I agree. Like how the writers are delving into character development, each character has their own backstory already.

What did is read some of the critic's online reviews. They revealed information about some of the other episodes, specifically the upcoming opening of the second episode. I know you are TITtilated by the idea, but it's just bad writing and gratuitous.
If there's a story and some decent acting, I can tolerate some gratuitous sex, but there's not a show on TV, Netflix, Amazon, or anywhere that is enough to convince me that burning people with cigarettes or cigars and urinating on them is sexy or necessary for the story. It's still just cheap soft-core PORN trash, pandering to the lowest mental and sexual denominator (i.e.: The 50 Shades of Gray audience).

Dear God in heaven. That lesbian scene is what you were cowhaving over? Guess what. A, it wasn't one bit gratuitous. It was an essential building block of a larger story. And B, it wasn't the opening. (I had to go back and watch it a second time: I couldn't remember anything that was worthy of such ranting about. And as I suspected, it was nothing.)
I could not care less whether you watch Billions or not, but you should realize your fulminating makes it sound a whole lot worse than it was. But that's okay. Your kind of hysteria helps popularize shows like this. Google "Family Research Council" and "NYPD Blue." They made that show.
Question: why didn't you kvetch about the male nude shot?

So what did everyone think of the second episode? That ending scene was pure gold.

Apparently I need to watch again - it didn't grab me. FEW new shows grab me right off.
Ray Donovan did - the opening scenes of that were AWESOME.

Give it another go. I couldn't get into Donovan, but I was hooked on Billions right away. I'm a frequent stock trader, so I guess I just love this world. Damian Lewis is also great, as well as Paul Giamatti and some of the other actors. Plus, filmed in NYC.
