The theme of the Lucifer series revolves around the free-will problem. Carey's Lucifer is a figure representing will and individual willpower, who challenges the "tyranny of predestination". While in Heaven's eyes this is blasphemy, Lucifer points out that the rebellion (and indeed all sin) and damnation as consequence were pre-planned by his Creator, God. Lucifer rejects God's rule and moral philosophy as tyrannical and unjust. The violent, aggressive, totalitarian, vengeful, and dictatorial aspects of Heaven's rule are represented mostly by the Archangel Amenadiel,(played by DB Woodside)

Hmmm, trying weaving all that into a weekly Fox broadcast?

Making him entirely impish and naughty instead of demonic and evil and not a bit scary...and the previews showed him becoming an "advisor" to the LAPD? Think they could have done a lot more with the premise. Looks like it will go down the cutesy road.

I hope he has lots of therapy sessions.

I'm glad I had a reason to tune into Scream Queens because the preview for this showed during episodes of that and so I decided to watch it. I don't know if I would have thought to watch it otherwise as I do not know any of the actors/actresses. I did not know if I would really enjoy it..was curious because it sounded like an interesting concept. I'm not usually into shows like this nor British actors but this is even better than I thought. I'm already hooked. Not only is it interesting Lucifer seems like my kind of devil (in fact he is the devil I was going to write a fiction about but never did. he's how I envision the devil if he was real should be) and he's rather funny.

I dunno it doesn't seem cutesy to me. It's just not entirely dark. There's enough dark things in this world and we have more dark than we used to with Game of Thrones and Walking Dead.
I think they're just going the route of making the devil have layers. If I wanted a real scary devil I'd go listen to preacher sermons. Speaking of which I'm sure there will be Christians complaining that this is too cutesy and the devil does not have a heart. There will be more of him being scary as the series goes on I'm sure. In the one part of the pilot his eyes turned red to the little girl who was being a bully. Even if he does end up being just naughty, there's a guy who is telling him to be more of a devil or he'll go back to hell.

I was worried it was going to turn out Dracula-ish, which I didn't like. But it was the opposite. I liked it. It was funny.

That's actually not necessary! Hulu airs Fox episodes 8 days after they air, for free.

This one?

Especially the fire and brim stone types.

Don't forget the ultra brief glimpse of his real incarnation that was as evil as his bro Amenadiel

Come on who does snark better than the British?

Christians complaining can make a show. Ask Steven Bochco.

Sheila Sazs! I knew she looked familiar.
