I don't think that Chloe has to be magical for there to be a Chloe effect, although I suppose that "dad" could be tinkering in order to make some point. But more likely: Lucifer simply had a "love at first sight" experience without realizing it, and these feelings are making him vulnerable, as the final scene suggests. A metaphysically deeper explanation would be fun, but I'm not counting on it. I suppose it could be a variation of the old "superheroes can't have lovers" theme that runs rampant throughout superhero fiction (even tho Lucifer is not really a "superhero"). If that's the case, then Chloe will soon realize the truth of Lucifer, but then she will need to deal with the possibility that if she stays with him, she puts him at risk...or does she? We know that she can hurt him, and he can hurt himself, but can any other mortal hurt him just because Chloe is nearby? Would Lucifer get hurt if he jumped in front of a bullet to save her? I suspect that she is the only mortal who can really hurt him.

Since he can hurt himself I think anyone can. And he thinks that. The preview for Monday has her asking 'Are you avoiding me?'

I can't watch that preview but I saw a description in the guide. His reaction to Satanists is going to be funny!

That was pretty good. Now I know why Aminediel can hurt him so that's cleared up. Love the reaction of the guy at the door.

Are we watching the same show? Now I've seen all sorts of variations on the classical Faustian pact with a deal making Satan, I cannot recall a portrayal of the Devil who is upset by the Faustian portrayal and subsequent stereotype of satanic behavior.

Well its sort of cleared up, still don't know where this power of Chloe's comes from. But its nice to see that what most of us hoped for, the de-Castling of Lucifer and an increase in the supernatural conflicts between Dad, his brother and all those damned to hell folks with no adult supervision wreaking havoc on the world of the living.

Nice fight by the way.
