“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and FXX have carved out a place in TV history.
FXX has renewed the show for a 13th and 14th season, which will make a co-holder of the record for longest-running live-action comedy in TV history. (“The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet also ran for 14 seasons and had far more episodes.)
The show was already renewed through Season 12 in 2017, and the two-season pickup will take it almost to the end of the decade.
Oh come on, for real? I was hoping the show would end after season 12. I'm a big fan... I own all the available seasons, but it's getting a little bit old, and each season seems to get a little more outlandish, and not in the good-outlandish way that made the show good in the first place.
It's time to end it and answer some nagging questions.... Is Frank really Charlie's dad? Is Mac really gay? And what on Earth is The Waitress' real name?
Not to mention that 10 episodes a year are nowhere near enough. They should do just one big 23 episode season and finish it off.
