I really should read the books. I started after watching, but the first part of the first book was so much like the show I decided to wait until after the series ended. Now that they are off book, I might do it. It sounds good.
I read the first book in one day.
It was like a giant overdose.
And then I stopped.
But I think I will go back and read the others now, bc clearly there is a lot of backstory that would be pretty useful.
Binged all the s6 episodes Sat. night/Sun. (this wknd.).
Watched a compilation special that brought me up to speed, since it's been a year since I'd seen the series.
Season 6 was as immersive and compelling as I'd hoped, and gave me 'the feels' (for good & ill).
Alas, it's always agonizing waiting another year for more.
Holy S***! That is a long timeline. They should consider doing a GOT Prequel. THey have 9 seasons worth of material to play with.
Or 3 major motion picture episodes.........
