She had a severe drug problem which led William to leave an infant Randell at a fire station. What I don't remember is whether it was ever established that she died from her drug problem or just disappeared.
I kind of remember that she died when Randall was born.
Kevin and Kate really bring this show down. I always like the episodes without them so much better.
I kind of agree with you. Last week's episodes about them didn't really grab my attention but last night's had me riveted to the TV. Those two actor really deserve the Golden Globe.
I must have missed something about the ducks. I know they showed them at the end crossing the road but I don't recall hearing what William was telling Randall about them.
I'm going to miss William - I know it's just a TV show but I really liked him. I felt the same about Herschel when he died on The Walking Dead.

William kept telling Randall about going to see the ducks at the Peabody Hotel
still loving this show. and i still think jack is going to die in a car crash while drunk.
