In 15 years we'll see several of the Gosling kids on Intervention.
I think they should immediately cancel this show and go about their lives in whatever privacy they can find....for the mental health of those kids. I refuse to watch this show.

Yes, I agree with you NC, I only chose to watch Monday's show because of the media hype...yeap I got sucked in. But I was never really a fan. I watched a few shows early this year, only due to me channel surfing....didn't really know about the show. Then the media storm hit..and I was curious. But, I refuse to watch the show. It should be taken off the air. TLC should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing.

I watched--for a long time all I noticed was 'busy Mom'/rather high strung but who wouldn't be with 6 kids--and the kids were cute.

The relationship between Jon and Kate always seemed to lack warmth but I assumed that worked for them. There were times when I would have walked out of the house or lost my patience-cough--but the shows continued. Many marriages are 'Like That' and outsiders cannot really 'judge' from bits and pieces that may be evident.

They were engaged for over a year prior to marriage it would seem some of these behavioral patterns would have been evident long ago.

A psychiatrist said the same. That the stresses of the 8 children, the TV show or any other external factors couldn't destroy the relationship--it was already 'flawed' and that is just not something that I think should be offered for public consumption.

Sorry, but no one needs to have a store empty with no public paying customers in them because they CHOSE to have their life played out on tv... not even the President insists on things like this.
I used to live in Memphis. I know the Kmart they went to for the St. Jude episode and there is no way that store is ever that empty...or that clean. But I figured it was for Kmart's benefit and not just for the Gosselins' benefit.

I was impressed watching Jane Velez on HLN tonight. One of her guest was Paul I forget his last name but he was an child actor on a old show. He was outraged that these children are on this show. They were talking about the coogan Law . That I guess doesn't hold in Pa. He also said though that in Pa children under 7 are not suppose to be working.

According to Aunt Jodi, reality shows don't count because the kids aren't acting. That is Jodi's whole point is that there are no laws to protect them.

probably was Paul Peterson. Started out as a Mouseketeer then was on "The Donna Reed Show" ; he's an advocate for child actors.

Child actors only have to have Coogan accounts if they work in CA or their employer is there. For example, if Disney shoots a commercial in another state, the kids need Coogans because Disney is based in CA. 15% goes into their account directly from the employer. It's a good thing, and should be in every state, IMO. I mean, it's only 15%! Shouldn't they at least protect that much?

I say, make the Coogan Law effective in all 50 states, and include reality shows in existing child entertainment regulations. Unfortunately, the Gosselin kids will probably need that money for counseling.
