If they want me to feel sorry for her for "working" so much, then they should do a show on that. Seriously, show me the down side of her "job."

After the heartwrenching scene between Jon and Alexis at the bday party --she said, 'Daddy, I don't want you to go away again' and Jon responded, 'Sometimes daddy has to work'.

One commentator said that could be the subtitle for the show--'Daddy's Gotta Work'.

He seemed to be a very hands on Dad. Kate frequently mentioned that he needed to ask, 'Honey, how can I help you' when she seemed at a breaking point. That is a relationship issue, imo.

If she somehow thought that he could earn an income to support 10 people comfortably then that is setting the bar rather high.

Again, who really knows.

I know I am somewhat envious of Kate today because it seems she is vacationing on Bald Island, NC.

I guess there is more than one way to be a good parent. There should be a balance between play and care. Playing with your kids is great, but someone has to feed and clothe them. I think it is pretty normal for the dad to be the "fun" one and for the mom to do what needs to be done like the cooking, cleaning, teeth brushing, etc. In their case it is magnified because of the number of kids.

From the episodes that I have seen he does that too. In fact he does it more then Kate because Kate is usually gone because of her "career" the only time she seems to be with her kids really is when she is filming.

edit: oh and did anyone find it odd how the kids thanked her for the party? Children that age generally do not do that unless someone tells them to

In the shows I have seen Jon does help out but not to Kate narsistic standard. Doesn't he do the morning shift something about feeding the kids dressing them with the clothes mommy Kate lays out for them nightly. Getting the oldest off to school while Kate sleeps in?? And he gets the girls of the bus in the afternoon. Jon is hands on from what I seen.

Jon is probably fed up with her.. I would be. She never lets him talk in the interviews and freaks out when he tries to speak.

I've watched the show from the beginning, and besides doing the girls' hair, Kate doesn't do much. She makes a big deal about her cooking, but their lunches are always things like sandwiches, fruit snacks, and carrot sticks. Big deal. Day care people do that all the time. She doesn't deserve a medal for that.

Jon is always the one bathing the kids, dressing the kids, helping with shoes (in the earlier shows), loading them in the car, etc. And he actually plays and interacts with the kids. Kate doesn't really do that.

Well this show and family are what they give us to see. I had read that they at times based shows on viewers comments. Like doing something with the boys . I had said for while that Kate favors the girls. In fact she really favors Hannah stating she is like her. When a problem comes up when they are out she then yells Jon come get your child. I got sick a long time ago with her saying she needed a nanny because she can't get stuff done. THe problem is she is nuts. She washing the floor or says she does several times a day. She brought work to herself and I think wanted Jon home so she could have him as a nanny because she fired all the others. Those kids should have either been in school at 3 or they could have because they had 6 hired a teacher to have preschool with them. AS premies they are at risk kids. They also need to be social and learn social skills with other kids who aren;t their sibs. Other kids are really going to teach them things. LIke Hannah will not be the boss with other kids she will learn that other kids who aren't her sibs won't be bossed by her. Besides a camera in their face they never unless Jon lets them be kids who get dirty and allthat. If you had watched the show for a few years you know what a relative was saying was true. Kate tried to let the kids do messy things and my guess because viewers were talkng about her, you can tell in some shows that it was set up. Kate has a big head and until the people who watch this show send her a message that we all can live without her and move on she will keep trying to be in the spotlight beause I think at this point that comes before anything else to her. They have money they have been doing this show for 5 years and look what they get for each show. They got lots of perks so if they didn't put money away then I 'm sorry I don't feel sorry for them. THis season alone TLC is showing 40 episodes which is double the usual. If that doesn't make your stomach turn what does.
