yea, it's kind of hard to believe they would take some of these Rookies and they don't use or have guns so I don't know how they expect to control the obvious troubled inmates...........

I had watched season 1 also. I enjoy the show and don't take it too seriously --ya know? I'm not gonna rant and rave over whether it's realistic or not. It's just a tv show.

so the little 5 foot tall female officer who weighs 100 pounds shouldn't be anywhere near the inmates.
She is certainly not able to take car of herself and I wonder why she was selected to be in the system??
She was in a good position near the gates but supposedly she asked to be transferred to the inside. Crazy!!!
I totally agree with you, however we live in a world of equal opportunity....which by the way...I fully support. However selectivly placing a young, inexperienced female, in an all male maximum security prison could become a huge safety risk. Both for her, her fellow officers, and the facility. The better question to ask is...what would make a young, attractive, small statured, apparently educated female, desire to work in those conditions. It does however make great drama !

The officers she works with and around (like it or not) will see her as a liability...they now have one more body to watch...imagine her rolling in on that convict that was reportedly to have been in solitary for nine years with numberous staff assaults. I highly doubt her appearance on this show was "luck of the draw"...I believe it was and is, totally staged...It takes approximately 3-5 years to fully train a correctional officer...She is brand new according to the script. Read the book "Games Inmates Play"...she is a "fish" !

I'm just thankful I am not her shift lieutenant that has to say "no"....he will then retire 😏

And that was my only point...unfortunately a large majority watch these "reality" shows and believe what they see....its entertainment...

For someone who doesn't like the show, you have the most posts in this thread about the show.

I just saw a bit of the show, so I can't comment on it.
However, I work in a maximum security prison in California and we actually have quite a few (as in hundreds) of cute, young, tiny inexperienced girls like her doing this job. They walk the tier, escort the lower levels to jobs and pretty much all the jobs the men do.

Yes I watched last night, I actually liked it. I never knew about this show and wondering if season one is on demand?

I could never be a correction officer. If those inmates talked to me the way they do to the guards, I would beat them with a billy club (which I would carry around with me all day)

There was only a short window of opportunity for this to continue. The only possible way for it to work would have been them filming at a lot of locations at all the same time. Then release them to viewers one by one later.
