Love this show, for those who complain- Whhhaaaaaa!
It's not like you work for Congress or anything, who cares if it doesn't follow protocol or whatever it is you're complaining about.
Use your imagination!
I don't mind a bit of farfetched, it's a TV show, but the stereotypes are bothersome. I like parts then the stereotyped general/governor makes an asinine speech and I'm left thinking 'that was really lame'. I wish they wouldn't play down to lowest denominator in the crowd. Write it smart and complex, the audience will follow.
I really like Kal Penn but...all I ever to see is the comic actor and Kumar. I know he's both like and hate that. lol It's a tough sell for me.
I really liked the first episode but I'm not sure how long I will last. It isn't the inaccuracies that other people are complaining about. They aren't bothering me so much.
I think the issue is that, generally, I watch TV to relax and escape from stress of the day so the subject matter is getting to me a little. Maybe its because I already feel a little stressed by the political climate but I am finding I'm not interested in watching it when its live. I've been watching from my DVR days later and FF when it gets too much.
The trouble with playing to stereotypes is...that is what happens in real life. No doubt in my mind there would be violence in muslim communities if something like this happened, and no doubt some governor would make asinine comments.
I thought the most cliched part was the FBI investigation. This hostile asian agent who is the only one who thinks her theory is right but can't prove it....just not original or interesting.
IMHO the remains of the govt would be well aware that identifying a single target could and would have negative implications, and there would be more than one person who advocated to make it right.
