The only thing I don't like about the 31 Days of Oscars programming is that they don't show their regular Sunday Silents, which is my absolute favorite feature weekly on TCM. Gawd, I love to see the old heartthrobs like Lars Hanson. George (the Chest) O'Brien, Nils Asther, and Thomas Meighan. Those guys were gorgeous!

It's back for 2018. TCM's 31 Days of Oscar. Here's a link to the intro page, and a downloadable schedule:

This year marks another installment of “31 Days of Oscar,” TCM’s annual month-long presentation of films that have either won or been nominated for an Academy Award®. As a guide for finding your favorite films or discovering new ones throughout the month, we are presenting featured films based on the categories in which they were awarded or nominated. All primetime showings will feature award-winning films. February 1 kicks off with Gold Diggers of 1935 (1935) on a day of Best Original Song Winners & Nominees. The celebration ends March 3 with Ben-Hur (1959) in the Best Picture Winner’s category. Throughout the month, you’ll find a host of TCM premieres and hundreds of films recognized for their achievements in cinematography, costume design, performance, writing and all the technical skills involved with bringing a story to life on screen for audiences to enjoy.

Is it just me or are the Oscars awarded much earlier in the year than they used to be? Back when I was kid, it seemed like the Academy Awards Special was in early April close to Easter? Wonder why they're in February now.
