I really liked this series, but I really don't see a point to doing a second season.

I don't either. It had a satisfying ending. They want to capitalize on it's success, I get that. And I will watch. But season 1 will likely be the best.

An aside: it was funny to me to, while I have HBO, turn on True Blood after watching this. I had been surprised when Perry was either being a goof or menacing. Never showing his cool side, which we know the actor has down from TB. I felt they should have showed him being the charming guy who had captured her in the beginning.

Otherwise they did a good job explaining how a woman like her would possibly stay.

Depends on how the plot goes
Meryl Streep is coming in as Perry's mom-
Will be interesting to see if they make her a sympathetic character (maybe an abused wife herself) or the cause of his anger toward women--
Especially if she will want lot of contact with the twins---
You know Nicole's character Celeste is trying to diffuse all the damage they sucked in while living in home with abusive dad...
Really hoping they let Streep go to the dark side and be a real passive-aggressive b----

I read they will tug at these bonds. Friendships and marriages will fray.

Here's a little more from HBO on season 2.

Lot of advertising and nothing revealing
Except Streep has red hair, looking more like Kidman's mom...

The Season 1 ending was also the ending of the book. So the writers will be basically just doing their own thing for Season 2.

I will definitely give it a shot though.

That gives me little confidence.

I too will give it a try. The first season was so good, it earned a look.

LBL was a great one-season series. What we used to call mini-series, before producers started squeezing every dollar they can, making ongoing shows from material that should have ended when it ended.

Oh well...

I'm sure we'll watch it, although I can't stand Meryl Sheep.

Well, they have a short story the author wrote, but mostly yeah.
