i have liked it so far. i laughed out loud several times last night. especially about the stair chair. when she starts going up and then reverses because she has to go back down again. and it's going to slow...then dan pulling out his flip phone to take a picture of her! haha!!

it was never a show that was only all for laughs. there was always bickering and yelling and even screaming and arguing, etc. if feels to me like the old roseanne show come back to life and i like it.

i went to a taping of one of the halloween shows back in the day. that was fun!!!

But how is Darlene's daughter so huge? Darlene is small and David was small, and they have an amazon daughter?

^ Well, Dan's genes would have to show up in the family sometime! In fact, it's less logical that Rosanne and Dan would have a teensy child like Darlene. In fact, if the show were REALLY being realistic, Becky, Darlene and DJ would all be fat.

Not necessarily. Kids in the '80s and '90s were more active. Today yes, they'd probably be overweight.

^ To me the 80s and 90s were yesterday. Yes, American kids in the late 80s and 90s were fat, and it was very much in the public conversation. It wasn't that long ago. (I was born in 1951.)

We're talking about fictional characters here - but I bet in real life Barr and Goodman's kids are bigger than Gilbert has ever been.

Yup, plenty of articles and talk shows talking about obesity in children because they were playing video games and with the generation before that, couch potato children who sat in front of the TV all day. Ain't nothing new.

I don't think so. Becky and Darlene were really bratty. I'm the same age as the characters and I remember thinking they were bratty when *I* was a kid watching the original version of this show.

Also, how stereotypical to write a teenager as a brat. Boring. Trite. Easy.

Sorry, I don't see the humor in that. I have a teenager and a soon to be teenager and the ONLY time I've done anything close to this to either was as a joke.

All I saw was an old woman who lacks the intelligence or creativity to properly address a problem. Basically, old lady Roseanne threw a massive temper tantrum as a response to a temper tantrum.

For the many people who like the show, I'm happy that they have brought it back for you.
During my lifetime, there have been many shows that others in the family wanted to watch that held no interest for me. I always had a book at hand or found some alternate activity to amuse myself.

I was a so-so fan of Roseanne and I did watch many of the original episodes. I haven't seen the new episodes but I have heard mixed reviews.

I did find the hype surrounding the revival to be a bit much. Maybe that's why I haven't tuned in yet.
