I watched it purely because I used to live near Marfa. The spoofing of the Chinati Foundation there is what made the series funny for me. Such a pretentious batch of silly people and their "art"!

I thought this was the philosophic strength of the series, ridiculing the general pretense of a (bad) art community.
But I had a negative take on other prominent aspects.. the female neuroticism on full display, and the story was about sexual obsession (fair enough), but the nudity was gratuitous (for me)..
I think the cast did a good job, working with a pretty gross plot.
