You may have seen the earliest Trevor Noah Daily Shows and thought that he sucked. Well you were right. Around the last election he was better, but still had a ways to go.

But lately he's been confident as hell, and funnier, doing more of his little physical comedy bits and everything. I think he's a lot fun to watch. (I, for one, like all his Africa jokes, cause at least they sound fresh.) Not as good as John Oliver, but John has the luxury of only 1/2 hour per week.

Last week's Al Franken interview was a really good one. The quality of the guests is going up too, and I'm glad to see the return of the "random interesting authors" from the Stewart days. He still doesn't have Jon Stewart's knack of really probing his guests to "either cut the b.s. or admit that's what you're giving us," but he's finally trying to. A recent Donna Brazile interview comes to mind here. And remember, Stewart's last couple years (especially his last one) he'd lost this knack too.

His correspondents are OK. Roy and Hasan together are always fun. But I think Trevor himself is really taking off lately.

Trevor Noah is a very smart, funny guy. Check out his book. A great read.

I thought Trevor was good from the get-go. I love that he actually reads the books of the authors he has on the show and can hang intellectually with every guest.

His show does like to beat up on white folks though (said from a liberal progressive), sometimes that gets cringe-worthy especially when it fails to distinguish between types of white people. The show also doesn't seem to think non-whites can be biased.
