I think the problem with St Elsewhere was the content of the show and how can that be in that kids head. There was some seriously disturbing things that went on in the show, ie. rape/murder. It was an odd way out in the end and I don't think it worked. Great series otherwise, what a cast.
I would like someone to explain to me (genuinely) why "How I Met Your Mother" is widely considered one of the worst series endings ever. I binged the show not too long ago and while the final season probably dragged longer than it should on I dont get the hate.
"Hey kids, I told you this longass story about how I met your mother while only actually spending five minutes talking about your mother herself. Btw this whole story was just my excuse to go bang Aunt Robin again, whooo!"
Seinfeld - it was trying really hard to be funny but it was labored & flat, I think even Larry David came back to write it perhaps. I think they would've been better off with a more minimalist approach than some big plot events. Like waiting for a table in the Chinese restaurant episode where truly nothing happened.
I'd agree with this.. They just tried too hard.

I think the issue here is much like the Abrams Star Trek, I think.. Taking the time and investment in the series only to have them say "Oh, that never really happened"
Best: Bob Newhart show. The one with Daryl and my other brother Daryl. He wakes up with the wife from a other sitcom he was in and was having a dream about being married to a blonde. I am sure Newhart wrote that. Excellent!!!
Worse: Lost. I wish I had never started watching that show and get my time back.

So now it's a blank slate, that he or anyone else, can write or rewrite as they see fit.

That's exactly how I felt about that show. I felt cheated in the finale.
Best: breaking bad, six feet under, and I actually liked sex and the city's finale
worst: seinfeld (and I was a HUGE fan of the show)...just fell flat, but the whole last season did
