Just started Westworld last night. The Ed Harris character reminded me of the Yul Brynner character from the original movie. I guess the timeline is a little long for the 30 years mentioned, since the last time something happened to the programming, for that to be from the movie.
Too many narratives and plot lines going on.
I could totally skip William's present story line -- too boring -- I liked his story in the beginning, but not not as the older man in black playing outlaws and cowboy.

I agree about too many plot lines and, also, characters to keep track of. I hate when that happens in books. For example: "The Wheel of Time" book series. It started out great and I kept reading until about the 7th book when I gave up. Again too many characters and plot lines.
I don't know that there are any more plot lines than Season 1. We have four protagonists: William, Delores, Maeve, and Bernard. Everyone else is a player in one of their quests.
