Yep, kid was good last night. That was a surprise about the ob/gyn! Maybe the police chief is involved with the cult too? He keeps trying to close the case.

When we saw Vera exercising in the barn, did she run head-on into that stone? I thought I heard a thunk but didn't see any blood.

Last night's episode was a "jump the shark" episode, IMO. It was the first time I was wishing it was over.

I fell asleep on second half. Cop was looking upstate for the "purple lake" and our hero was wandering in the woods. It kind of doesn't make sense yet (if at all), but it has eerie touches, like the very end, which is when I woke up. Did I miss anything much in between?

So clearly some sort of pagan fertility thing going on, again, ala The Wicker Man. It is not as good as the first series, but it still holds my interest. I find Pullman mesmerizing in this role, and very vulnerable and complex. I find the cop neither interesting nor particulary bright, but she is compassionate.

What's up with the ticker? It looks like some sort of "auditing" machine.

Last night's episode gave me the creeps. So I am guessing Vera figures out that Creepy Leader Guy wanted to eventually sacrifice Julian like the calf.

"We will raise him, he will bind us. Name him." - refering to calf

"We will raise him, he will bind us. Has she named him?" - referring to Julian

Her face went white as a sheet when it finally dawned on her why he wanted to keep baby Julian.

I think maybe the Chief of Police and the other (male) deputy are members of Mosswood. I was thinking Heather's father was too. I wonder if Vera killed the head dude before he could kill Julian? I wonder why that couple were kidnapping Julian? So many questions, so little time left!

I feel like Vera may have arranged for the couple to take him, knowing what the Creepy Leader Guy had in mind (i.e. sacrifice him like the calf). Unfortunately, Julian was unaware of all this, he only knew they were not going to bring him back.

Ah ha! You may very well be correct. The simplest of answers sometimes don't make it to my brain!

No, the time line is off. He seemed to be planning that sacrifice before Julian was born and the couple took him like a couple of weeks before where we are now, when he's 13.

Boy, that kid sure can pull hissey fits. I think Vera shot Marin. I don't think the kid would shoot her. Finalé next week. I think they find out Heather's dad has not been on the up and up, just like I have been suspicious of. It's been a pretty good show.
