Might as well get the ball rolling now.

Arie Luyendyk Jr will be the next Bachelor. Folks will remeber him from Emily Maynard's season

Arie Luyendyk Jr. is ready to find his happily ever after!

The 35-year-old has been named The Bachelor‘s next leading man, Good Morning America revealed Thursday morning.

“This is pretty surreal,” Luyendyk Jr. exclusively tells PEOPLE. “It doesn’t really feel real yet, but I’m taking it step by step. The timing is just so perfect in my life. I could not be more excited for this journey I’m about to embark on.”
The Bachelor Is Arie Luyendyk Jr.

I didn't watch Emily's season, so I don't know anything about this guy, but I find it funny that they went back five years in time to choose him over someone from a more recent season. lol

According to his interview on GMA he said he had been in regular contact with producers over the past few years and finally now everything was able to come together.

...for whatever that's worth...

Seriously? Why couldn't they just pick Luke or Chad then? Or freakin' Wells! I'm still stuck on JoJo's season, as you can see.

Luke blew his chance in grand fashion

I heard on one of the shows that Arie was set to be the bachelor 3 years ago and at the last minute they dropped him and went with Chris Soules

I think some Bachelor in Paradise viewers found Wells annoying, but I don't mind his jokes and he's pretty cute. Maybe they'll choose him to be The Bachelor five years from now. lol

Good choice in my opinion. Thought they might go with hothead Kenny from the recent season of the Bachelorette. Not really anyone from the recent season that would have been good that I can think of.
