Meh - I will probably give it another chance or two. The brother's accent was getting on my nerves and it wasn't very funny.

It had a couple of laugh out loud moments (not many shows do that for me) and one Awwwww moment.

I think they are going to slowly take the father down the road of what the grown Sheldon on TBBT has led us to know of him. Beer bottle in hand quite a bit, young Sheldon asking about his father drinking all the time.

My hubby and MIL didn't know that the mom is played by Laurie Metcalf real life daughter and remarked how well the actress looked and sounded like Laurie. LOL. I let informed them.

I will definitely give it a shot.

Meh. I think the child actor is quite good but a bit stiff...but he is such a kid so I really can't criticize.

The only part I truly liked is the grown up Sheldon narrative.

If I watch this show it would have to be because I care about the characters...so far I do not.

PS: Laurie Metcalf is awesome as grown up Sheldon's mom

DH and I watch TBBT and enjoy it but I wasn't really looking forward to this spin off. I wasn't interested when they started showing commercials but we gave it a try and actually laughed out loud during a couple moments. I also liked that they are showing some of Sheldon's backstory and making his character (and those from his family we've seen or heard about on TBBT) a bit more relatable.

Ugh, I see a lot of typos in my post.

Anyway, I get what your saying about Sheldon's backstory. I saw where someone thought the child actor looked stiff. Well of course he does, that in essence is what Sheldon IS.

I'm a fan of BBT but have no interest in watching this show.

Exactly. That little actor is fantastic. I'm looking forward to his portrayal of Sheldon.
