We watched episode 2. I'm not sure what happened to our recordings but it was all we had left. Neither of us cared for it.

Did it get funnier?

There were only the two shows so far. The premier happened then a long break and this show. You didn't miss any shows.

I'm giving it time to grow on me. If I recall correctly, the Big Bang Theory didn't flip my switch for quite a few shows. It takes a bit of time for that to happen.

Networks these days don't give shows enough time to find their groove and audience. We, as viewers, want instant funny and for shows to capture our attention immediately.

I dunno, I'm willing to give it time...

I thought the second episode was good. It started slow, but found its groove by the end of the half-hour.

It's interesting to me how different this show feels versus the BBT. I had thought they would be brothers, but they are distant--very distant--cousins.

So far, I'm enjoying it.

I'm willing to give it time. The woman playing Sheldon's mother is spot on, and a joy to watch.

Wrap this around your noodle - Sheldon's mother on Young Sheldon is played by Zoe Perry, who is the daughter of Laurie Metcalf, who plays Sheldon's mother on The Big Bang Theory.

But then, you probably knew that....

Wife and I like The Big Bang Theory, so we watched the premeir recently on demand. We were not impressed at all and will not be watching more. Its a very different kind of show from The Big Bang Theory. Not really a sitcom, more like a half hour drama with a few attempts at humor.

Yes, only 2 episodes show so far as of first week of Nov ('17). I like Young Sheldon so far, and I had strong doubts about watching the show at all. I just could not see any of the BBT characters having their own spinoff.

This is not my own opinion, but in an odd way Young Sheldon sort of reminds me of The Wonder Years. Probably I think of it that way in part due to all the retro-feel about it. And I noticed some really neat retro items, such as wallpaper and wood paneling in the house. I generally like the acting and stories so far. And the show is quite dissimilar to the BBT, like distant cousins.

I agree, and I think that's why I like it.

I sort of like it. I think it was definitely a mistake putting just the premiere episode on, then nothing, for so long! We'll see!
