That certainly wasn't the same Meemaw character that appeared on Big Bang. The Big Bang Meemaw didn't have much to say and mostly just sat on the couch. Based on what Sheldon had said about her, I expected someone who treated Sheldon as someone special. The Meemaw on Young Sheldon was more consistent with Sheldon's description on Big Bang.

Remember the card game with Wil Wheaton? Sheldon spoke of a Memaw that died during that game with him.

No...that was Wheaton speaking of his dead grandmother to trick Sheldon into throwing the game. It turned out that Wheaton was lying, his grandmother was still alive.
