Yeah, boi.

I still say Lorca is of the mirror universe.

And mirror universe Stamets will be BFF with prime univers Stamets. I suspect they've been flip-flopping universes all this time, and only now are able to meet.

As I said, it's confirmed this Lorca is actually from the mirror universe--which is why he hasn't been acting very "Starfleet-ish."

The spore drive has always been illegal--using it required either abuse of a sentient creature or illegal genetic manipulation. I suspect it will be discovered that using the spore drive actually damages the basic underpinnings of the universe (in fact, all universes). And that will lead to all experimentation with it being banned by all sentient races.

I decided to wait until I could watch the whole thing. I'm registered on the site, but hate watching it on the dinky little laptop screen. It sounds more and more interesting.

How can one watch this on the tv?

A good while ago we got a Google Chromecast dongle for our relatively dumb television. We can dial up a program with the Chrome browser on laptop or phone and "cast" (mirror) it to the television set through our wireless network. Once it gets started on the television, we can go to other tasks on the phone or computer.

CBS All Access appears to "know" when it's been cast to a television. It doesn't mirror, it sends a separate feed to the television than is appearing on the computer.

Did anyone else think the scene between Stamets and the Doctor somewhat mirrored the Nexus in Generations?

I must say that I have been very pleased with the Mirror Universe episodes. And there's finally been an explanation as to at least some of the darkness lurking on the Discovery (before it went into the Mirrorverse). Some great, splashy, space-opery fights and maneuvers too. Can't wait to see what happens next!

They toned down the MU a bit from the absurd campiness that we saw in earlier iterations. Now it's much closer to something the real world has seen before and might see again.
