ok, so that is the guy she was marrying in the jail?

Yes--Johnno...
Finally getting married after being in NZ for 4-5 years--and he was worthless "leaf" grower...
She just has no self-esteem
But when you see how the men == her fellow officers in police force treat her and other women you can understand why women have problem w/self-esteem
Nicole Kidman's character is all about trying to take control in a society that doesn't value women...
The guys sitting in the restaurant talking about the brothel workers, rating the women they have sex with--that is just a sad state of affairs
They are basically afraid of women--which is why their "relationships" come with sex workers...no way to say no, no reason to be anything but selfish, no expectations for any meaningful give/take...
That is why they were laughing at the guy who "liked" Cinnamon--
Was she playing him--very likely--but he at least saw her a real person
Same with Robin's boss--he apparently gave a sex worker that huge Panda bear and then she was "disappeared" as well from what Robin and Brienne of Tarth were talking about at the computer...

Agree she is an excellent actress whenever I have watched her. She is probably the only reason I an continuing to watch this show.

I stopped watching "China Girl" after E2--
The attitude toward women, the brothel owner Puss/Alexander who is grooming Mary--were hard to take so I stopped
But I came back, watched from E1, and am trying to finish

I must admit the guy playing Alexander/Puss is a really good actor
I hate the character but he is very, very good at giving that guy enough reality and some sympathetic lures that a viewer can understand how he can play Mary...
He hates women (and people who have money/power) so much and disguises it so well most of the time
He is one of the best villains I have come across in long time...

And I figured out who was in the trunk in E4

Well, the ending was unexpected yet totally predictable because all the clues were there

Quite a few loose ends--
Will there be S3
