Anyone else watching this show? I just watched the first episode of this season. It was great! The ending was priceless!

I love WDYTYA. I don't know why I haven't really watched this show, but I'll make up for lost time during the winter!!!

If you want to read more discussions about this show, there's a long thread in the Genealogy forum: http://www.city-data.com/forum/genea...n-finding.html

Tonight's episode bothered me a little since it seems that Gates (or his producers) like to focus on dramatic/unusual lines rather than following what might be the majority lines for individuals. And usually the episodes end with the participants being given their DNA results, which is always really interesting. I especially wanted to see the DNA results for Paul Rudd and Scarlett Johansson, but none were shown tonight.

Another fan of this series. I realize that the audience is manipulated, but it's still very interesting and they do find celebrities with interesting backgrounds. They also show a personal side of the celebrities that audiences don't really see in other interviews. Very cool that their researchers travel to countries of origin to look at prime source records. That must be very expensive. I like this series so much better than the other one on cable.

It seems that when they trace the genealogy of these celebrities, they always find some relative that was unique and special. I wonder if they ever try to research a celebrity's family and come up with nothing. Do they tell the celebrity that they are not going to bother or do they pick famous people who can provide interesting information about their families before they perform the detailed research.
