Would upper middle class people in 1958 have accepted that?

Default The marvelous Mrs. Maisel Amazon

I loved this show so much. I thought the art direction and costumes were fabulous.

I really liked it too. I caught quite a few anachronisms. Why do they always mention "panty hose" in these period shows, like Madmen, The Help, etc. Do some research. Pantyhose came much later than 1962. Otherwise the writing was rather witty and the lead actress was very good carrying the show.

I noticed that they used the slang word "drama" like we use it today. "I don't need this drama" idr, ever hearing drama used like that until maybe the last 10-15 years. I've heard "dramatic" but not drama.
But overall, I thought it was great. The Gilmore Girls people wrote it. I recognize the witty dialogue but like that it's not as rapid as GG.

I tried so hard to get into it and could not. The reviews and online chatter have been very positive. Maybe I will give it another chance.

I also heard the phrase "get with the program. " No one said that back then. Still like the show and hope that there is a season 2.

I remember a teacher saying "Get with the program", but that's all. Somehow I missed the panty hose problem, but you're right! Garter belts! ugh

I liked Goliath and Sneaky Pete on Amazon Prime so I will be willing to give this a shot.

I just binge-watched all of series one.
Fantastic show -- really unique and creative, great character and plot development, fabulous acting -- especially Susie, she's hilarious.
Yes there are a lot of anachronisms, especially with the language, but didn't bother me.
