Dead Like Me was one of the best shows ever. One of the few I even bought the DVDs.
I loved the original series. It would probably make my Top 10 favorites list. The one-shot movie they did several years after? I didn't care for it at all.

That movie sat in development hell for years and when they finally got around to actually making it Mandy Patinkin wasnt interested and Laura Harris (Daisy Adair) wasnt available. When you only have 4 reapers and their leader and you lose that leader and a reaper you're talking about 40% of your main cast. It was doomed from the start. I only even have it in my collection because it rounds it out
I loved that show. I am a big fan of Bryan Fuller's work. He is responsible for some of my favorite TV shows over the past 15 years. But I get the impression he is rather hard to work with.
DEAD LIKE ME. Fuller left over "creative differences."
HEROES. Fuller left over "creative differences."
AMERICAN GODS. Fuller left over "creative differences."
STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. Fuller left over "creative differences."
THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES. Fuller left over "creative differences."
AMAZING STORIES reboot. Fuller left over "creative differences."
It's actually a running joke online now. Every time a new TV show is announced, someone will post, "And Bryan Fuller has already left over creative differences."
It's too bad. The guy is super talented and has a fantastic imagination. But reading his resume I often remember my dad's advice, "If you met ten people today, and you thought every one of them was an *******, it's time to ask yourself if maybe you're the *******."
Great post! Plus, I was not aware of this Fuller guy, thanks
I loved Pushing Daises (and Lee Pace)! I would definitely watch a reboot!
I'm also another Dead Like Me fan. My husband had never heard of it so we got the DVDs and have been watching them. Now, he is hooked too! (We're just a couple episodes away from the last and the set came with the movie...I think I'll have to prepare him for that before we watch. I don't remember all the details, just that it was disappointing.)
I have to ask: What would happen if one of the Dead Like Me reapers tried to 'reap' someone who had just been touched by the guy from Pushing Daisies?
Funny you should ask. "Pushing Daisies" was actually born out of a "Dead Like Me" episode that was turned down. In it George couldn't collect any souls because somebody was resurrecting them with a touch.

"Dead like me" would be a much better tv series reboot from him. However, they'd have to stay with the completely black comedy style. The original actors knocked it out of the park!
