As a Survivor fan, I was excited to hear there are other countries doing their own version of this show. My husband and I recently discovered Survivor New Zealand and we are really enjoying it. They are currently in the middle of season 2, but of course we are starting with season 1.

Season 1 takes place in Nicaragua and has Redemption Island.

Anyone else watching?

Matt Chisholm is the host and he’s actually really good. We watch it on YouTube. I think it’s broadcast on TVNZ

I didn't see Season 1, but I'm really enjoying Season 2. I like that they show lots of strategizing, something the US version has seemed to have abandoned. One thing though....the accents take a bit of getting used to!

One of the things I’ve really been enjoying about this Survivor is how they show more of camp life. We see them playing cards, writing in journals, having chats around the campfire.

I'm watching season 2 now. Season 1 doesn't seem to be on there complete, I'll have to search more later. Anyhoo, how interesting! The folks are just folks. No actors/spokesmodels at all. I tell you what it's refreshing. The show is definitely more low budget but the challenges are still pretty good. The host has all of Probst's mannerisms down pat. lol I like him. He's direct at TC. Thanks for the heads up!

Tried to start watching it on Youtube yesterday on Roku and two things I clicked on that were supposed to be Survivor New Zealand were something completely different, and the other the sound went mute before the contestants were being shown in the intro. Will try some other videos when I get a chance hoping one of them works.

I’ve had the sound go off in a couple of episodes as well. It comes back on but definitely annoying when it’s at TC. Also had a video game come on after episode 3 or 4 was over. lol Watching on roku as welll.

Went back to the video today and the sound started working again. It's season 2 so I wont be posting in this thread for awhile. Will watch season 1 later.
