We know Daria Morgendorffer isn’t one for smiling, but this news might just do the trick. Maybe.

Daria & Jodie, a tentatively titled reimagining of the ’90s animated comedy Daria, is one of several nostalgic projects in development at MTV Studios, our sister site Deadline reports. Grace Edwards (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Loosely Exactly Nicole, Inside Amy Schumer) is on board to write.

I didn't even like the original.

MTV is extremely lacking in new ideas. The only program I can think of that debuted on the flagship channel in the past few years and wasn't highly derivative to me was 90's House, but it definitely was moderately derivative and not something I watched, and swiftly it was moved to MTV2.

My family loves Daria! I don’t know if the remake will be as good as the original version but I look forward to giving it a try.

LOVED Daria back in the 90s. Have it on blu ray. It's funny I liked it considering I couldn't stand Bevis & Butthead. If it does return to TV, whether it's picking up where they left off, showing them in college or now 20 plus years later, I'm all for it. For an episode or 2 at least. So far I've liked the revivals I've seen

I loved Daria in the 90s, watched it again a few years ago but didn't like it as much. I'd give the new one a try, though.
