Any opinions on "Dr. Who" as it would pertain to this topic? I have never seen the show.
I've tried watching it a number of times (jumped around to see the various Doctors), and just couldn't get into it... not sure if it's the British thing or if it's "too science-y," but I personally don't think it fits with what you're looking for here. That's just my opinion, though!
I liked Heroes. That was a few years ago, but it's probably on Netflix.
I almost forgot about the Outer limits. Similar to The Twilight Zone, but with more Science.
And there's more: Fringe, Haven, and maybe Surface.
Fringe is in my list. I watched it all the way through while it was broadcast on FOX and have since bought the entire series on DVD. It was the show that inspired me to go back and watch X-Files and the others on my list. You could say it inspired my interest in science fiction.
If you go with this one (which I'd also recommend), do yourself a favor and start with the second episode... trust me, Season 1 Ep 1 probably turned off a LOT of people to the show! Ugh is all I can say.
One more suggestion, which is available through Tubi TV: The Dark Half, based on the Stephen King novel. I just randomly came across it one day, and got hooked pretty fast!
"Fringe" mixes time travel with alternate universes to such an extent that they used different colors and styles of opening sequences to clue the audience to which universe the episode was set.
"Fringe" is astounding, and I'd put it first on the list.

My list in the OP was not based on quality, it was just a random order. That being said every episode of Fringe left me confused but intrigued in such a way that it I craved the next episode. To this day I wish it ran for more than just five seasons. I agree that it was an astounding show.
You need to add The Expanse which is unbeleively good! The concept with blow your mind and is very true to life on what could happen in space. I just finished Season 3 and it hits everything you are looking for.
Magicians is crazy good too. Time travel, alternate universes and great characters.

Eureka, maybe? It's more of a comedy, but there's a lot of science in it.
Comedy is my favorite genre overall. I will do some research on this show. The combination of science fiction and comedy could be very enticing.
