In my experience most offenders have made some mistakes but are pretty normal people. On the outside you wouldn't necessarily know. There were plenty of antisocial, power-hungry, and downright evil prisoners on the show. In addition, there were plenty whom we saw develop over time.

Do you have some inside information about deportation hearings conducted in detention centers? I have no trouble believing that the people who are in prison are taken to their hearings in the only clothes available to them, their prison jumpsuits. When they had a day doing hearings for minors, who were not detainees, they were wearing their civilian clothes.
