Well that was a predictable season finale. Certainly not original that's for sure. The evil guys death was interesting. Other than that there wasn't much new. No real questions answered. Maybe next season we will get more information.

They did attempt to tell us when the series will end its run. Now they have to try to give us a product that will last that long. Good luck with that! At this point, I will recommend people binge watch “The 4400” and be done with it.

I agree with your comments. But no next season for me. The show has become boring, with far too much of the "soap opera" aspect being emphasized, and far too little of the mystery being focused on.
This appears to be the type of show where I get more frustrated as every episode/season goes by. Where I keep waiting and waiting for something to happen, for answers, for progress. And I've learned over the years, if a show doesn't give you what you want after one season, kill it. There's no reason to think it will do anything different (or better) in future seasons.
So rather than beat my head against the wall, I'll just delete the Season Pass. The writers had a chance to redeem themselves with a strong season finale, but they just regurgitated the same poor writing we've seen for a dozen episodes now.

Seriously, what would you have had them do, solve the entire mystery for you? And then what would they come back to? If you want to argue that Manifest should have been one season, I'll agree with you, but if they're going to stretch it out, they have to leave you wanting to know more, at which, IMO, they have succeeded.

I agree with your assessment
In fact I beat you to it because I watched my last episode before Christmas break
I think this show “manifests” two factors that spoiled it
Weak writing where they likely don’t have a game plan for how the show will evolve and poor leadership where the show runners don’t have clear vision of their end product
Compare this show with one like “Fringe” that had lot of surprising elements and a sci-fi aspect
“Fringe” was Much more complex—not just surface red herrings or plot complications
This show was trying to replicate “Lost” but in reverse—
Where there is not a plane crash but a plane that does NOT crash after being gone 5 yrs
They took an idea that was successful (in some ways although I didn’t watch it) and tried to use parts they felt offered most % of long term viability
Lot of people watched Lost and it was commercial success
But I hated it...just like “Manifest”...
One thing it did not do as much as I thought it would was turn it into a religious experience

I can't tell you what to do (I'm no writer), but I watch a lot of multi-season mysteries, and there are ways to do it so the viewers are kept happy as the mystery(ies) roll on. I'm not saying they need to solve it and walk away, just that they need to do a better job of keeping viewers both involved and satisfied.
Manifest just dances & jumps around, with little thought given to how the plot is driven forward. At some point, mystery-driven serials often will mostly solve the primary (or original) puzzle/secret, only to be led to a completely new, but related mystery. It keeps viewers hooked, while also keeping them happy.
This show just frustrates many of us.

It hasn't been renewed yet, but is almost a certainty to be renewed.
I'm still going to watch if it comes back. I find it entertaining & interesting.
I'm thinking Mic got shot at the end when Zeke & Jared were fighting over the gun.
Can't wait to see what the Major does while "helping" the female Oncologist.
Thought it was a stretch for Olive to figure out Peacock + Gemini pictograph+ Cal's wooden dragon meant the 828 survivors are going to die on 5/2/2024.

All I could think of when it was revealed when their "expiration date" was, oh geez 5 more years of this show? There's no way it will last that long.
A lot of the characters don't really have any chemistry either.
