Many of the shows we got into, we didn’t start watching til years after they ended. Gilmore Girls, Nip/Tuck, Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad, just to name a few.
I did not like "Law & Order" when it first came on. I remember hating the Dann Florek character. But I'd watch some when there was nothing else on until I gave up. Then one day I caught it on A&E. It was a Season 5 episode. Sam Waterson had replaced Michael Moriarty and they had introduced two female characters. Plus, I really liked Jerry Orbach, so I was hooked on both the reruns and the first runs on NBC.
I got into "Walking Dead" late. I could not stomach the first episode, notably the horse scene in the Atlanta streets. Later I caught up on a binge marathon on AMC while I was in the hospital although I gave up on it last season.
There were a lot of shows growing up that at first I wasn't wild about or didn't get a chance to watch (recoding tv shows wasn't a big thing growing up).
Now, I'd pick an old show and watch reruns, because now even if we're doing/watching something else, we can later turn to what's on the dvr.
Some of those are: Golden Girls, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith Show, Mike and Molly, (think I've seen all those episodes now)
Going way back: Perry Mason. I was just a kid when my Mom was watching this show. Both Mr C and I are watching these episodes now. DH is comparing that style to what we see years later on shows like"Law and Order".
Also catching up watching and perhaps re-watching older episodes of "Blue Bloods".
We're watching some of the older but still rather new to us - food shows, as well as some of the current episodes. "Best thing I ever ate",
"Burgers, Brew and Q", "Food: Fact or Fiction", and "Cheap Eats".
My husband and I just finished watching Yancy Derringer on Amazon. Considering I was only 1 years old when it aired, it's not like I missed it the first time around! I was impressed on what a well made show it was for it's time. It's hard to believe a 60 year old show would still be so entertaining, but we enjoyed all 34 episodes.
i never watched frasier when it was originally on, dont know whay, but none the less, i watch it every night now and I think it is hillarious and love it.
the brother Niles is a scream.....
I love that the 2 boys are so different than the father.....
