The biggest joke was the traipsing on stage of the Gianni Versaci winners, where the audience got a lecture about homophobia and persecuted gays. Wait...Versaci, a gay, was killed by a gay guy, who murdered another gay guy and three straight guys...Okaaay.
Some things never change.
Actually it was a gay guy who murdered 4 other gay guys (including Versace) and 1 straight guy, before finally killing himself.

I caught the second half of this. Between the two jamokes hosting it and the trash talk, the Emmys are now in the gutter with the Grammys and Oscars. There's not even a semblance of elegance remaining.

Are you suggesting that homophobia doesn't exist anymore and that gays aren't persecuted? Or that they're ONLY allowed to talk about things specifically related to their series? Ooookay.
Very happy for Matthew Rhys and Henry Winkler. I wish Keri Russell would have won.
I truly love Mrs Maisel but the comedy directing absolutely deserved to go to Hiro Murai for the Teddy Perkins episode of Atlanta. I've never seen anything like that on tv.
I'm a bit disappointed that Atlanta was shut out except for the Katt Williams guest star win. I feel like it's so groundbreaking.
I'm glad Handmaid's Tale lost it's thunder. I don't like it at all.
On another note, I'm always fascinated by the ex factor at award shows. Milo and Alexis, etc but the elephant in this room was Elizabeth Moss and Fred Armisen. He was featured a lot in the show. Awkward. Also, I'm wondering if Alex Borstein and Will Sasso are dating or he was just a friendly companion.

I watched the first hour. It was incredibly dull. Sorry that I missed Betty White because I saw a clip of her speech and she was a real class act. I also think she had the nicest outfit of anyone of any age. The opening monologue was very wooden. Glad that Matthew Rhys won. He's a great actor in just about anything that he has done.
