Just finished "Banished" series about the start of the Australian colony but the British
Very good--great acting and costuming, sets
Seems accurate based on what little I have read in a few novels
Very compelling and very good at putting each facet of problems---convicts, soldiers, governor's--men and women-- into perspective

Think there is 2nd season but Amazon doesn't have it

Only disconcerting element was what good teeth most of them had...

Well, most convicts came from lower classes where good food and enough of it were rare.
Teeth are developed in fetus/infants and only emerge later
Plus most people in that era didn't bath or regularly brush their teeth--
Some did--but they usually used salt and ash maybe with a cloth rubbed on teeth
Toothbrushes were not that common
The convicts--men especially--look dirty which is natural
But when they smile some of their teeth are just gleaming, straight, obviously perfect
Not every convict LOOKS are perfect but most of them have excellent teeth--
They could at least have discolored them

It wouldn't be so noticible except they do lot of close ups....
