SEASON PREMIERE ‘THE GREAT AMERICAN BAKING SHOW: HOLIDAY EDITION’ PREMIERES THURSDAY, DEC. 6 Emma Bunton, Anthony ‘Spice’ Adams, Sherry Yard and Paul Hollywood Star in the American Adaptation of the UK’s Most-Watched Television Show
“Cake and Pastry Week” – On your marks, get set, bake! It’s a double dose of spice this holiday season when the most festive and friendliest competition on television returns with new host, Emma Bunton (Spice Girls), Anthony “Spice” Adams, veteran judge Paul Hollywood (“The Great British Bake Off”) and new judge, three-time James Beard Award-winning pastry chef Sherry Yard, when Season 4 of “The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition” premieres with slices of cake, and sweet and savory pastries, THURSDAY, DEC. 6 (9:00–11:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.
Can't wait. I love seeing the wonderful things they bake, but I REALLLLLY love seeing
PAUL HOLLYWOOD --- OMG, I think that is one sexy man!!!!
I don't think the American version is that bad. I think the British version took a nosedive when they lost Mary Berry and the original sidekicks. The new crew leaves me flat.
Sorry, Eldemilla, that I'm not as taken with Paul Hollywood as you are, but I'm still going to watch for the baking. Definitely like to compare the camaraderie/competitiveness of the Americans vs. the Brits, too.
What I don't like about it is they do the whole "Coming up...." that seems to be the norm with American shows these days (ala Master Chef). I don't need to see everything that's going to happen....
Also, I love how the English bakers are so insecure ("it'll probably look terrible, I'll probably have a soggy bottom") whereas the American bakers are the complete opposite (My cake will be awesome, I'm going to rock this bake).
I'm quite enjoying the new British Bake off with Pru, Noel and Sandy.
American version was awful ! Brits will have a good laugh anyhow .
