Today would've been the 70th birthday of Brandon Tartikoff. He was the executive who revolutionized programming on the NBC Network during the 1980s and took the network from worst to first with programs like Hill Street Blues, Cheers, The Golden Girls, Miami Vice, and Seinfeld. Tartikoff was programming executive at NBC until 1991 and sadly passed away in August 1997 from Hodgkins Lymphoma. What are some of your favorite NBC programs and or features from that time?? For me it was the "Be There" slogan and Danny Dark's voice overs to promote the next week's episodes of shows. Along with the drop-in "In Stereo Where Available" graphic that was shown at the beginning of every program back then.
