There is a thread about HGTV show hosts. My biggest pet peeve with these shows is generally not the hosts (if I don't like them, I don't watch). But even with the shows I like, there are sometimes buyers that I simply cannon stand. Some of these people are so incredibly naive, arrogant, stupid, unreasonable, etc.... The younger the folks, the more likely they seem to think they can get everything they want for practically nothing - and they just "don't understand" why things are so expensive. Good grief. Sometimes I want to virtually slap these people. I've had to just quit watching episodes beause the people got on my nerves so bad.
The ones I "love" are the ones who gush on and on about the style of house they want, but as soon as they tour that style they don't like anything about it. They want a craftsman bungalow but hate all the dark wood. They want a vintage colonial with "original charm" but hate the small rooms, single bathroom, closed off kitchen, low ceilings, and tiny/non-existent closets. Wallpaper gives them the vapors.
Also the snowflakes who know basements are haunted so they'll never go down there.
They want open concept, granite, stainless steel, fenced yard for Milo, and dream spa bathroom.
Just for once I would love to see a nice humble couple check out a 50's house that needs updating and appreciates the character, that sees the potential with each house.
I used to watch these shows but the budgets were just not jiving for me (staged buyers, like veuvegirl said).

And the kitchen and master bath are totally inadequate, even though they don't have the IQ points to successfully microwave a Hot Pocket.
