Three of the five series had episodes or arcs dealing with "Alien Nazis:"

The Original Series
  • Patterns of Force
Voyager:
  • The Killing Game
Enterprise:
  • Storm Front
I thought these were some of the worst ST stories - with Patterns at least making some sense. Did you enjoy these episodes?

Formulaic storytelling, reaching for the biggest of the big bads and using them as cardboard cutouts.

The OT episode was OK. An alien race influenced by a Federation guy violating the Prime Directive. The Voyager an NG ones were less than interesting. They spent to much time on the holodecks.

I had a friend in the publishing business who told me "Put a swastika on the cover and you sell another 5000 copies."

For it's time? It was okay.

Today? Most of the "classic" episodes have not aged well.

Okay, never watched Enterprise, so that is out of the running.

The Killing Game I found fascinating, primarily from those on the outside trying to understand.....and those on the inside of the "game" trying to understand. Especially in the last battle of the game where the perfect Nazi is on his back, looking up at the Klingon swinging the batliff (sp?) down on him and I have always wondered......what was the thought going through his mind at that sight.

Further, of course, there is the peace or at least the truce developed at the end that continues at the end of the episode of Tsunkatse. At least they have an understanding.

Patterns of Force is one I watch a lot. Good lines such as Spock telling Kirk that he should make an impressive Nazi, two lieutenants of different services who are still friends, interservice rivalries, Kirk introducing people on McCoy's beam down, hidden double agents, exquisite Nazis....who weren't, and it just went on and on. Love that episode.
