You wouldn't catch me watching shows like The Ropers, Family Affair, The Partridge Family, or The Love Boat.
On the other hand, I kind of liked Love American Style, Soap, Night Court and some other shows that probably weren't sitcoms like Get Smart and Taxi. Maybe Taxi was a sitcom.
Everything starting going downhill on ABC in the 70s - Happy Days, LaVerne and Shirley, Welcome Back Kotter, Three's Company, The Ropers -- you name it. It was all pretty stupid.
The most comedic element of "Cop Rock" was Bochco's thinking it stood a chance in the first place. "Hill Street Blues" SERIOUSLY went to the guy's head, people. I would have LOVED to have been in on that pitch meeting.
Actually I should have said, "And then there's Maude!"
