WHAT IS IT WITH THESE WOMEN AND THEIR FAKE ACCENTS?!?!! She kept going back and forth like that twit from Britain did a few weeks ago. It drove me nuts.

she's lived there for a while. She probably picked it up.

I don't know. I've been away from MA for 17 years and although I did lose a lot of my accent I did not pick up my husband's - Chicago - or a Southern one.
Regarding buyer's that can't see past paint colors or cosmetics, I once had clients that went into two homes. One was a foreclosure where the woman had left some things behind. It did not look like an episode of "Hoarders" by any means; not even close. Just some stuff. Yet they ran out of that house like their butts were on fire.
They bought the other house that was clean but not as good of a deal, by far, not as good of a location, not even as nice or pretty and on and on.
But they thought it was too much work to bring out some stuff to the curb. The thing is we have free bulk pick-up in my city. Just drag it to the curb. Or hire someone. It was such a great deal that they still would have come out way ahead. But nope. Some people can't see beyond what is in front of them.
Or are too lazy.
Or both.

Many HH buyers paint the house they buy immediately after closing, it is a way to personalize it to one's taste. I love personalizing, I can't stand cookie-cutter style. But that's just me.

Painting it is just a normal thing to do when one moves into a new place of dwelling, I don't understand why everybody doesn't understand this concept.
When these HH look at these houses, why waste time making a comment about a "pink room', or a 'blue room", obviously it was the taste of the previous owner, you don't have to keep it that color.
I think buyers should always be prepared to have to paint, it really is a no brainer............It just gets so frustrating, where did these people ever live, did their parents ever paint or change a light fixture......how big a master does one really need, how many bathrooms does a house have to have?????
I am starting to really hate these shows with these dumb ass people, especially the young ones.

Not everyone thinks painting is is a "normal" thing to do when they move. Not everyone thinks the same. I'm not sure why people don't understand that concept.

I guess some people don't want to fool with painting right away since they already have so much to do with the move in the first place. It can also be an added expense they homeowners don't want to deal with.

If painting is that much of an added expense, then they really can't afford to buy a house.

I loved the episode about Vanuata. I even searched for jobs for my husband there after seeing that epi. What a gorgeous island! The house they picked had a wonderful view.

that is the concept the new home owner doesn't seem to "get"
If one can't afford paint (which is soo inexpensive) or can't afford a few new appliances then they no doubt won't be able to meet the mortgage, property taxes and home owners insurance............just sayin...

depends. We had our first house painted, every room. The paint was horrible. We had the carpets cleaned. Our current house was vacant and had been newly painted after the owners moved out, and had new carpet on the main floor. All we did is move in our stuff. (I clean, or have it cleaned before moving in). A couple of the nicest houses I've been in here were both very well maintained by the previous owners, and had nice paint colors. Neither of those families painted, and they keep their houses immaculate.
