I love HD but if it comes to choosing to watch or not I will watch even without the HD. Sounds like your hubby is really "in love" with HD, huhn?
I am so chomping at the bit waiting for Aug 1st to come so I can get back to watching my truTV and my programs!
i've watched hd and we have digital through dircet and an lcd tv and there isn't that big of a difference. to me it's not worth the price. i'll keep you up to date.
I know! Honestly, it dosn't look all that different to me
To me it's just not worth it for the money. for me to get an hd receiver it would cost about 500.00 dollars. it's the tv that makes the biggest difference to me. we have a sony bravia 32" lcd. we used a freinds hd receiver and there was little to no difference. he even wished he hadn't spent the money now.

$500.00??? You can buy them at WallyWorld for $40.00 and get a $20.00 off coupon from the government! Are we talking the same thing here, JFR? Is this converter the same as a receiver? If anyone still has an analog tv, they need to get the converter since stations will be broadcasting in HD only Feb. 17th. I DO like the HD my tv gets but like I said, if a program is not HD I still will watch it.

Holy moly! We just got a new tv a few months back, which to me looks awesome without the hd thing, so then of course, he had to get the hd package from Direct. I know it wasn't $500 though!
I just had Verizon buy my phone number back from Comcast and am having my internet provided with FIOS plus the FIOS tv all for $99 a month.
