I love HD but if it comes to choosing to watch or not I will watch even without the HD. Sounds like your hubby is really "in love" with HD, huhn?

I am so chomping at the bit waiting for Aug 1st to come so I can get back to watching my truTV and my programs!

I see a little more clarity on the screen with the HD but the only REAL difference I see is watching sports. Now that makes a world of difference!

To me it's just not worth it for the money. for me to get an hd receiver it would cost about 500.00 dollars. it's the tv that makes the biggest difference to me. we have a sony bravia 32" lcd. we used a freinds hd receiver and there was little to no difference. he even wished he hadn't spent the money now.

$500.00??? You can buy them at WallyWorld for $40.00 and get a $20.00 off coupon from the government! Are we talking the same thing here, JFR? Is this converter the same as a receiver? If anyone still has an analog tv, they need to get the converter since stations will be broadcasting in HD only Feb. 17th. I DO like the HD my tv gets but like I said, if a program is not HD I still will watch it.

Holy moly! We just got a new tv a few months back, which to me looks awesome without the hd thing, so then of course, he had to get the hd package from Direct. I know it wasn't $500 though!
