Default Does (or should I say did) anybody watch The Wire?

I have just recently started watching the Wire on DVD. Just finished season 2 (I really like the port union storyline) last night. I probably watched the 1st 2 seasons within a month it was just soo good. I'd say its just as good as the 1st two seasons of the Sopranos. Is anybody else a fan?

I am like you and watched The Wire after it went off the air. I kept reading all these articles about the series finale and how it was one of the best shows ever so I decided to get it on Netflix. I have watched all 4 seasons available on DVD and the show is phenomenal. I cant wait to see season 5 when it comes out. Keep watching the show, it will not disappoint.

I just got Sopranos season 1 on netflix yesterday. Cant wait to start watching that show.

In my opinion, the last 3 episodes of season 1 of the Sorpanos is by far the greatest TV that I've ever seen.

Four days until "season 5" of The Wire is out on DVD, I cannot wait! I love, love, love this show. I cannot stomach the crap they pass off as "quality" on the major networks, not after watching HBO's series. Kiggis13, I have to say that I did enjoy th Soprano's, (mainly the first 3 seasons) but I think Six Feet Under and The Wire blow the Soprano's away. Ofcourse, only my humble opinion :-)

Default Gotta keep the devil way down in the hole...

HUGE HUGE fan of The Wire. Hands down, my favorite TV show. The night of the series finale was a really depressing event at my house because I just couldn't accept that it was completely over. Forever.

I've seen every episode at least twice and am guilty of sitting through four or five repeat viewings of the same episode. We have obsessive marathons which are probably pretty silly since we know what's going to happen...but yet we remain riveted. My husband turned me on to it a few years back. I balked at first because it was mid-season and I was confused by all the characters and how they fit into the puzzle. If people see a random episode they may be slightly impressed with the quality of acting/writing, and each season can and does stand alone, but IMO it's best watched from start to finish. That's how it hooked me. I guess I don't see how it couldn't hook someone!

There were rumors of a feature length film, but I think Burns and Simon are entirely done with the project.

My favorites show of all time!

If I had to pick one, I'd say season two was my favorite although they were all good. Omar Little is my favorite character, from any show... ever!

Honestly, it would be next to impossible to pick one favorite season, but I would likely go with 4. I have not watched the 5th season, yet...that will change this week! I think what amazes me the most is the fact that I can so strongly dislike a character, but come the next season I feel total empathy with him, I am a total Stockholm Syndrome case

Best show of all time. I still can't believe it's gone. I am so envious of people discovering it for the first time. They have no idea what a great ride they are in for.

I'm a huge fan. I've rented season 1 and 2 so far. I'm not hearing good things about season 3 (too much about the political scene), but it's in my queue anyway.

The Wire is one of the 10 best TV shows ever made. And it may be the best TV show in the last ten years. Brilliant.
