see, given the one trailer I've seen (it was like 10 seconds long or something), it seems like there's a possibility some of the current heroes could become villains (my money is on Mama Petrelli, that woman is evil!).

has anyone been keeping up w/ the comics and online thing. I heard somewhere the online comics were still coming out, but I've never gotten around to reading all of them. maybe some of the new characters will be introduced that way, the way Hanna was

So.. I watched the pilot episode of Heroes today. I have to say, it wasnt bad. I think I'll continue watching it. I know I have 3 seasons of catching up to do.. and I dont even know what channel its on. But I think I'm a potential fan.

I haven't seen the 1st episode yet, but have read blogs that heavily detailed it. my opinion: the show is going down a possibly dangerous road. the thing that pissed my off the most last season wasn't the Wonder Twins or the whole feudal Japan thing, it was the intro of Claire's blood as a miracle cure-all that can bring the dead back to life. I hated this w/ a passion b/c now the stakes don't matter any more and it's hard to enjoy the shocking moments if no one ever really dies on the show. all these cliffhangers where you don't know who will live and who won't return next season will become moot b/c there's always a potential everyone will be cured by Claire's miracle blood. the ultimate deus ex machina. there were other things in the 1st episode that, should it be abused this season the same way Claire's blood was last season, may make me abandon the show, unless the writers can really pull it off. I like the show though so will stick to it and have faith the writers won't mess this up

speaking of who will and won't be around this season, I heard that Monica, Michah's cousin will be leaving the show after the first few episodes. grr, getting rid of one of my favorite characters and one of the very few remaining black characters left on this show this show should explain why Micah's family members never seem to survive more than one season on the show unscathed

I've thought since season 1 that HEROES, as a story, had a lot of great potential, but in many episodes the writers need to slow down and think a little more.

Hiro, for example. The guy can time travel. So when best friend Ando does something stupid, what does he do? He teleports off to try to save him. Why???? Why not time travel 10 minutes into the past, and say, "Ando! Don't be stupid!"

Then you take him back to medieval Japan. COOL!!!! And what do you do? You have him run around for 8 episodes in some illogical Cyrano de Bergerac knock-off. Ugh.

And Claire always whining about her powers, what a freak she is. What's the motivation? If I found out I had super-healing powers, I wouldn't moan and whine about it all the time. Again, my thought would be: COOL!!!! Maybe if they had motivated her as being some sort of religious fundamentalist who thought her powers were satanic or something, it might have made sense. But her revulsion was never explained.

And I am still amazed that Marvel comics has not sued the pants off NBC. 90% of this show's themes and storylines are ripped right out of X-Men.

The show has a lot of potential, and I'm hoping that season three begins to realize some of it.

don't think Stan Lee is too upset about the show, since he did cameo in one of the episodes ("yes, I will play a part on your show, but then I will sue you for copyright infringement!")

I think right now, the show hasn't gone too X-Men b/c, unlike in the X-Men universe, the general public in the Heroes universe don't know about these powers. once this happens, there will be some X-Men-esque overreaction from politicians, not unlike what was seen in "5 Years Gone"

Ok I'm all caught up now.. season 2 was pretty short, I guess no thanks to the writers strike.

Anyway, I didnt like season 2 as much. I agree with eevee. That whole Claire's blood thing wasnt really working for me either. I dont know.. maybe they'll fix it in season 3, since S2 was cut so short.

And the whole Hiro in Japan thing wasnt as exciting as it was supposed to be. But I guess thats what happens when you mix time travel into a show.

But anyway, I look forward to the premiere on Monday.

That's true. But so many of the HEROES storylines are ripped right out of classic X-Men stories like "Days of Future Past" and the whole killer virus thing. And Adam Bowen is Magneto. It's just different enough to be a total rip off, but I can't help but feeling that I'm watching "NBC's X-Men" with the serial numbers sanded off.

Not that this is necessarily a bad thing.

You betcha! It's got about 4 episodes to intrigue me or I might be breaking up with this, once seemingly promising, show. I hope they can prove my doubts wrong!
