I understand the commercial irritating you, miamiman, but I also understand the frustration of the "wife". It is no fun dealing with someone who's hearing is going. I know, I am always asking my husband to please turn the tv down and he gets bent out of shape. If he's used my car and i forget, I almost have a heart attack when I turn the engine on and the radio blasts me out of my seat!
So while irritating, that commercial just shows reality!
I understand where you're coming from. I am not sure that the man in this commercial has hearing problems. There is a segment where the wife is using the device to hear two neighbors talking across the street. If the husband has hearing issues it is still odd that the wife responds so brashly. I know that I have family members with hearing issues, and while it can be frustrating to talk to them at times or hear them blasting the TV, I would never respond in such a brazen tone or manner. They can't help it.
I guess I don't want to over-analyze what's going on here. The product purpose is very-well stated unlike some other products that are advertised on TV these days.

But do you live with these family members? Visiting and living with 24/7 are two very different things! I wouldn't talk to relatives that way either if it was only because of going deaf. I'm pretty surre the commercial is implying hearing loss because the tv being up loud is one of the first signs along with "HUHN??" or "WHAT??" constantly.
LMAO at the woman in the commercial buying one to listen to the neighbors! I bet there are lots of paople like that! We had one woman at work who brought one to work for just that purpose!!!
I bought one for my husband so he could listen to the tv better without breaking my eardrums. Sadly, it did not work. All it does is pick up the sound of your breathing. Another rip off.
That sounds like the same attorney/lawyer commercial that I mentioned. It must just change the names of the firm to fit the location !
We have the same commercial with that guy from U.N.C.L.E. for attorneys here in Wisconsin. They just must insert the names of the different law firms depending on where it is being shown.

WE also have Robert Vaughn (Napolean Solo) here in Mass.!
We have some asian guy doing Six Flags, Six Flags over and over again! Very annoying.
This is more in the "infomercial" category, but how 'bout the guy talking about all of the sludge in our colons, and telling us about the tapeworm or something like that he found in the toilet after using the colon cleanse.
Yeah. That's gotta be the worst commercial/infomercial.
This mong-face porn-stash-lipped dork talks about how wonderful his daughters do do is. Dual-Action Cleanse. When this garbage comes on, it's time to go to bed. What exactly ish it that this guy is selling?

I haven't lived with them, but I have spent significant periods of time with one. I guess different people react different ways.
Haha!! If you think the segment is bad where she is listening to the neighbors, then you must have missed the segment when the commercial first aired with a guy who brought the device with him to the gym to listen to women comment positively about his body.
I guess it gave him more energy to continue working out.
